If I could win a competition such as this one that'd be a huge help. Winning this competition wouldn't help my finances, but the publicity might be useful - what do you think?
btw, I'm the 'featured author' at Alfie Dog this week.
Don't forget to visit Maria's blog for a chance to win my latest romance novel.

Yay for having no worries. I hope you have no worries next month either!
Glad you're presently insecurity-free. :)
I'm a big believer in not borrowing trouble. It'll find you soon enough without waving your hand and saying "Here I am--come and get me!"
No point worrying, Patsy. What will be, will be. Very best of luck in generating more income from your writing.
Glad things are going well
Good luck once you've left the day job - I'm sure you'll be fine :)
Good for you - writing full time. I've been meaning to stop by and tell you I just finished 'Escape to the Country' and could not put it down. It's not my normal genre of choice, but I found it intelligent, funny and heartwarming. Great job. I'll try to post a review shortly.
Thanks, Annalisa.
You're right about that, Linda. I'm going to try hiding from it - could work?
Thank you, Sally. I've just sent off a few things so at least I'm trying.
Thanks, Lonestarsky. I'll see how it goes before I start to panic.
Oh, I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! A review would be great - thanks.
So pleased the writing is going well. It can make the difference between dwelling on what you have not got and looking to the future! Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
Thanks, Pat.
Stay worry-free. Hope the day job thingy opens up opportunities for you.
There is that possibility, Rob.
Congratulations on quitting the day job! That's a wonderful step and hopefully your new routine will bring joy, not worries ;)
Why stress and worry about it now anyway, right?
Ooh, a chance to win your novel sounds wonderful! I'll be heading there now, thank you!
Good luck with your endeavors, and good for you for choosing to live your life doing what you love.
I've been made redundant, Pauline - but I am trying to see the positives in the situation.
You're right as ever, Ninja Captain.
Good luck, Rachel.
It's not entirely my choice, Cynthia but thanks for the good wishes.
I like your positive attitude, Patsy - hope everything works out for you.
Exciting news about leaving the day job. You WILL NOT regret this! And the writing successes will just keep on coming when you can say you are a full time WRITER :)
Thanks for the competition news. Can't decide if I'm brave enough to enter the BBC comp as many big names go for this.
Thanks, Rosemary. I hope so too!
I'm going to enter it, Tracy and I'm not a big name. Of course I will be once I've won! (just practising that positive attitude)
Leaving your day job -- eek! -- that must be a little scary. Wishing you all the best in your new life adventure!! :-)
I'm being made redundant, Lexa - yes it is a little scary but as you say it'll be an adventure too!
I'm not sure I'd like being in the back of the book with dumped on Patsy, you don't need to be there, you're doing fine. I still think they've missed out not keeping you on Nelson's ship. Adam Ant called it his best day out in an interview and I bet that was only because he met you... The bbc one looks fab, good luck you can do it. I'm going to enter, just for fun. Fingers crossed.
Hi Patsy! I just wanted to suggest checking out the Women On Writing website. They have a quarterly competition and right now they're on their winter one. The deadline is Feb. 28. It's ten dollars to enter, but they choose like first, second and third place plus four runner ups and seven honorable mentions. First prize is $350.00, then $250, then $150 and then I think it's like $25.00 to $50 for the runner-up/honorable mention places. You also get published in their online magazine. It's definitely something good to put in a query letter. It's flash fiction 750 words. Hope this helped and good luck with everything!!
Aaaw, thanks for the vote of confidence, Suzy. Good luck with the competition.
Don't think I've come across that site, Tamara. I'll look it up.
Good for you Patsy! :)
Xx
Thanks, Vikki.
Best of luck to you in pursuing your dreams of being a full-time writer.
good luck with the competition and congrats on moving to full-time writer!
Thanks, Michael.
Thank you, Jessica.
Patsy, I'm so proud of you. Congrats for taking the huge jump we all hope to make one day. I know you'll do just fine as a full-time author. If you feel worried, drop by my blog and ask for a hug. Liz
Aaaw, thanks, Liz. I might just do that!
I'm totally within this group at the moment (ok, most of the time, I admit it!). That competition win would definitely be a great help here right now! Good luck! x
Any win at any time would be a good thing, Maxi! Sorry you're feeling insecure - if it's any consolation you're most definitely not alone.
